The Sahel

Yet another region that stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to the Red Sea, the Sahel is another vital part of our African ecosystem. A more flat, dry, and unpredictable area, the Sahel has large basins and dry lake beds. Rainfall is greater than in the Sahara, less then 20 inches per year, but still low. The climate is a bit more livable, with a tropical environment. This is a great area to visit to see beautiful, and tropical landscapes

In Arabic, Sahel means "shore," and this is because The Sahel is almost like the "shore" of the large Saharan "sea."
